The last several accounts with Jesus have been about the disciple’s spiritual vision. Are they seeing Jesus–his person, work, mission, and the promises of God about him–clearly? And are they ready to see him (believe in him) by faith? And it all culminates with our story this week, about the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida. Questions abound. Why does Jesus take him away to be healed? Why does he use physical means to give him sight? And, most importantly, why in the world does Jesus have to lay hands on him twice to get it to work? Pray for your vision this Sunday as we go through Mark 8:22-26.
Annual Meeting this Sunday
If you are a member of GracePoint, we ask that you be in attendance for our annual meeting, held after the service this Sunday. Even if you are not a member, you are welcome to attend, too! Up for vote this year is Chris Cummings for elder, along with Jamie Cummings, Romie Mundy, and Rachel Adler for the nominating committee. We will also give an update on the church and vote on our annual budget for fiscal year 2020. (If you did not receive the proposed budget, contact Pastor Ryan and he will send it to you.)
No Praise and Prayer Service this Month
We will hold our normal Praise and Prayer service and Potluck on July 21st at 5pm. There will be no service this month due to Father’s Day.
Baptisms on June 23rd
Our next baptisms will be held on June 23rd. Baptism is the initiating rite in the Christian church. It signifies what you believe: That Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, and that you commit to following him your whole life. If you would like to talk more about this, reach out to Pastor Ryan. Don’t put this off!

PRAYING FOR GRACEPOINT
God has called each one of us as a solemn duty and as a high privilege, for the wonderful power of intercession for our church and for one another. Let us pray for:
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Lord, we so desperately need your wisdom. On our own, we won’t seek it. Give us a deep desire to live in accordance with your wisdom, as shown to us in Scripture. Help us to be a people who seek to live out your wisdom and to teach it to one another. Show us how to encourage one another and pass on your wisdom with thankfulness through wisdom, psalms, and hymns. Teach us to be wise, Lord.
Father, give me a desire to learn more of your wisdom. Reveal to me areas of my life where I need to grow in your wisdom.
Lord, I pray that GracePoint would be a place where wisdom is taught and honored. Grant our leaders wisdom as they seek to guide the church body. I pray that the next generation of GracePoint would already be seeking your wisdom.
God give GracePoint supernatural wisdom for the challenging circumstances that we may face. I pray that you would help us be faithful in preserving and proclaiming your wisdom to a lost world.
In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen
