Starting in the summer of 2020, GracePoint Community Church entered into a season of pastoral transition.

To help make that transition as smooth as possible, GracePoint brought on Dave Brown in November 2020 to serve as our intentional interim pastor with the goal of Pastor Dave providing a strong bridge from Pastor Ryan Phelps to our next long-term pastor.

As Pastor Dave explained in his sermon, A New Beginning, the plan with the elders was to lead GracePoint through a proven 5-stage process designed to help GracePoint reground, renew, and identify the type of man that God would bring to us to help us live out our refreshed mission, vision, and values.

That process took about two years.

With this revised foundation in place, GracePoint was in a prime position to begin the pastoral search process.

For little more than a year, GracePoint Community Church actively sought a Godly, loving, and gracious Pastor to lead our congregation.

In May 2023, GracePoint members voted unanimously to bring on Pastor Tate Kennedy as our new lead pastor.

As we prepared for Pastor Tate to transition into this position, Pastor Dave led us through a sermon series titled, appropriately enough, Transitions.

On July 2, 2023, GracePoint thanked Pastor Dave for successfully completing his assignment as interim pastor at GracePoint.

Then Pastor Dave officially passed the baton of leadership to Pastor Tate and the elders prayed over the Kennedys as they began their journey with GracePoint.

The GracePoint elders pray over Pastor Tate and his family.
