We continue in our series called “Confronting Christianity” this week as we reflect on 1 John 4:1-10 and look at one of the questions most asked. Can there be just one true religion? As one person put it, “It’s arrogant to say your religion is superior and to try and convert everyone else to it. Surely all religions are equally good.”
At least on the face of it, this is hard to answer. And we’re left stammering when we hear it, or we don’t bring up our faith at all for fear that it will come up. We fear offending someone. We fear coming across as arrogant and rude. But we do not have to be ashamed or afraid. But we need to take it on. For our evangelism. For us. Because at the heart of our faith is exclusivity. And that is good news.
