The last several accounts with Jesus have been about the disciple’s spiritual vision. Are they seeing Jesus–his person, work, mission, and the promises of God about him–clearly? And are they ready to see him by faith? And it all culminates with our story this week, about the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida. Questions abound. Why does Jesus take him away to be healed? Why does he use physical means to give him sight? And, most importantly, why in the world does Jesus have to lay hands on him twice to get it to work? Pray for your vision this Sunday.
